The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Sales Director to drive revenue growth through the sale of our custom-engineered packaging solutions to industrial and manufacturing customers across the Midwest and beyond.

The ideal candidate has a mix of technical understanding, solution selling ability, and B2B sales experience. You'll work closely with design, production, and customer service teams to ensure each solution delivers value in performance, cost, and sustainability.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement innovative sales strategies aligned with company goals to accelerate revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the sales process from prospecting to close, ensuring consistent pipeline development and performance excellence.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and strategic partners to foster loyalty and identify new opportunities.
  • Drive outside sales efforts by engaging directly with prospective clients across multiple industries, presenting tailored packaging solutions that meet technical and operational needs.
  • Oversee business development initiatives to identify emerging markets, product applications, and customer segments to expand SDP's presence.
  • Collaborate closely with the design and engineering teams to develop custom solutions that align with client specifications, cost targets, and sustainability goals.
  • Partner with marketing to develop lead-generation campaigns, promotional materials, and digital initiatives that increase brand awareness.
  • Utilize CRM tools (such as Salesforce or HubSpot) to manage opportunities, track sales activities, and forecast performance accurately.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements to secure profitable and sustainable business while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular analysis of sales metrics, customer data, and market trends to inform strategy, improve processes, and optimize team performance.
  • Manage key accounts with a focus on relationship depth, repeat business, and long-term customer success.
  • Demonstrate leadership in technical sales environments by translating complex product features into clear value propositions for decision-makers.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by responding promptly to inquiries, addressing concerns, and maintaining ongoing communication with clients.

What you will bring

  • Proven experience in B2B or industrial sales with a strong track record of exceeding targets ideally within packaging, manufacturing, or material handling environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience guiding or mentoring high-performing sales teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing and business development principles related to driving sales growth and market expansion.
  • Strong background in technical or industrial sales, with the ability to understand and communicate complex engineered solutions.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot for managing relationships, tracking opportunities, and analyzing performance data.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to close deals effectively while maintaining long-term partnerships.
  • Experience developing and executing business development strategies that open new markets or customer segments.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities to interpret market trends, customer feedback, and sales metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Leadership qualities that inspire collaboration, accountability, and a results-driven culture.

Pay: $120, $190,000.00 per year
