About the role
- As a Controls Engineer at Aegis, you will support the design, programming, and onsite commissioning of automated material handling systems. This role focuses on learning core technical skills and delivering reliable solutions under supervision. It serves as a foundation for developing technical expertise and supporting successful project delivery.
What you'll do
- Assist in the design and programming of automated material handling systems.
- Support onsite commissioning and troubleshooting of control systems (80% travel)
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and company protocols.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills.
- Partner closely with management teams to finalize project to meet deadlines.
- Utilize Allen Bradley products to help create and improve our automated processes.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in controls engineering, preferably in material handling or automation.
- Basic proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, etc.) and PC programming.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 80%).
- Certifications such as OSHA30 or relevant PLC certifications preferred
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- In this role, success is measured by delivering onsite commissioning projects on time and within budget, while ensuring a high rate of successful startups. Maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction is critical, with a target survey score of at least 8 out of 10 following commissioning. Safety and compliance are non-negotiable, requiring zero safety incidents and adherence to OSHA standards. Additionally, continuous professional growth is expected, demonstrated by completing all required training programs annually.
