Pay: $95,000.00-$105,000.00 annually

Position Summary: The System Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and supporting other healthcare-related software applications. This role ensures the stability, security, and optimization of the EMR platform while providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate has experience in healthcare IT, EMR administration, and database management to support the operational needs of a home health care company.

Key Responsibilities:

EMR System Administration & Support

  • Serve as the primary administrator for the organization's Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Configure, maintain, test, and optimize the EMR platform to support clinical and administrative workflows.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users, including clinicians, administrative staff, and leadership.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve EMR-related issues in collaboration with vendors and IT support teams.
  • Manage user roles, access permissions, and data security within the EMR system.
  • Ensure system updates, patches, and enhancements are applied with minimal disruption to operations

Software & Database Management

  • Support and maintain healthcare-related software applications integrated with the EMR system.
  • Assist in managing databases related to patient records, billing, and reporting.
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to implement software enhancements and integrations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting guides.

Compliance & Data Security

  • Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and availability by maintaining compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare IT regulations.
  • Monitor access controls, system permissions, and audit logs to safeguard patient data.
  • Assist with incident response planning and data recovery procedures to protect critical information.

Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives

  • Identify opportunities for automation, system enhancements, and workflow optimizations within the EMR and healthcare applications.
  • Collaborate with clinical, billing, and administrative teams to improve technology adoption and user experience.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for software investments, upgrades, and resource allocation.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
  • 3–5 years of experience in EMR/EHR administration and healthcare IT support.
  • Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR platforms (e.g., HHAeXchange, My Unity, Netsmart, MatrixCare, HCHB, Epic, Cerner, or similar systems).
  • Familiarity with healthcare software applications, database management, and reporting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare IT best practices.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in EMR and healthcare software environments.
  • Excellent communication and training skills for supporting non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with vendors, IT support teams, and cross-functional healthcare teams.
  • Strong documentation and process development skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Onsite role, with occasional travel to home health office locations as needed.
  • May require on-call availability for system issues and support needs.
