Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or other health challenges. The role involves supporting residents in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Candidates should have a strong commitment to patient-centered care and the ability to work effectively in a team setting within home and community care environments.

Duties

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior
  • Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning as needed
  • Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure proper safety protocols are followed during transfers
  • Maintain cleanliness of the living environment, including light cleaning duties
  • Document patient progress and communicate effectively with healthcare teams
  • Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies
  • Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community activities when required
  • Follow prescribed care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring compliance with all safety standards

Skills

  • Experience working in assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred
  • Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration, and vital signs measurement
  • Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and HIPAA compliance are highly desirable
  • Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia-related conditions
  • Strong caregiving skills including assisting with ADLs and providing compassionate support
  • Physical ability for heavy lifting and safe patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
  • Excellent observation skills for patient safety and behavior monitoring
  • Effective communication skills for working with residents, families, and healthcare teams
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for those served

Pay: $ $18.50 per hour
