Job Summary: B3 Enterprises is a growing, mission-driven organization entering a new phase of expansion and operational maturity. The Controller will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for developing a high-performing finance and accounting function that supports sustainable growth, strong execution, and long-term value creation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting functions and processes, including, but are not limited to payroll, accounts payable/receivable, job costing and financial reporting

  • Lead the transition from outsourced financial services to an in-house, scalable accounting function, including implementation and maintenance of efficient and accurate accounting systems and processes

  • Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff; establish scalable organizational structure as the company grows

  • Provide ownership with timely, decision-grade financial analysis, forecasting and reporting

  • Support lender reporting, covenant compliance and financing-related deliverables

  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes

  • Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure company compliance

  • Monitor contract budgets and funding; provide analysis and forecasting

  • Collaborate with corporate leadership and program managers to ensure accurate project costing and financial performance

  • Support pricing, proposal development, and contract negotiations from a financial perspective

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and other regulatory agencies

  • Perform additional financial leadership and accounting responsibilities as the organization grows and financial operations mature

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

  • Progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility in financial reporting and month-end close processes

  • Experience supporting or maintaining internal controls and compliance requirements

  • Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or CPA-eligible

  • Experience working in government contracting or other regulated environments

  • Experience supporting audits, external reviews, or interactions with auditors or regulatory agencies

  • Experience building, improving, or transitioning accounting processes and systems

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervisor of the Accounts Payable Specialist

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Certified Professional Accountant license (preferred)

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
