Description
The Senior Fleet Manager will oversee our nationwide fleet operations based in Stuart, FL. This role supervises two Fleet Managers and one Fleet Coordinator, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of a large and diverse fleet. The fleet consists of 370 Class B Hazmat Commercial Trucks, 230 Box Trucks, and 90 Passenger Vehicles. The successful candidate will bring proven leadership, operational expertise, and financial acumen to manage a fleet department with a budget exceeding $15 million, while driving innovation, continuous improvement, and supporting overall company growth through strategic fleet management.

  • Supervise and mentor 2 Fleet Managers and 1 Fleet Coordinator
  • Oversee the safe maintenance, operation, and utilization of 370 Class B hazmat trucks, 230 box trucks, and 90 passenger vehicles
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, hazmat transportation requirements, and EPA regulations
  • Manage IFTA reporting, vehicle registrations, and licensing requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Coordinate with Ryder, Penske, MHC, Wheels, and other vendors on leasing, purchasing, and maintenance of fleet assets
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs and optimize vehicle utilization
  • Manage procurement, replacement, and disposal of fleet assets
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and lower costs
  • Partner with the Safety Department to evaluate and deploy new technologies (e.g., telematics, ADAS, AI-enabled safety systems)
  • Lead root cause analysis for mechanical failures, accidents, and recurring maintenance issues
  • Manage and monitor a fleet budget exceeding $15 million
  • Prepare and submit CAPEX requests to support fleet expansion, replacement, and technology upgrades
  • Negotiate with vendors and drive cost savings through fuel efficiency and lifecycle management
  • Develop and present KPIs, metrics, and regular status reports to senior leadership
  • Identify trends and recommend strategic improvements to enhance fleet performance
  • Champion driver safety programs and compliance audits
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through training, recognition, and continuous monitoring
  • Align fleet operations with NuCO2's strategic objectives to support company growth and scalability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing a fleet of comparable size and complexity
  • Demonstrated success in supervising fleet teams and coordinating multi-location operations
  • Strong financial management skills with experience overseeing budgets of $15M+
  • Proficiency in fleet management systems, telematics, and KPI reporting tools
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, hazmat, EPA regulations, and IFTA reporting requirements
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives, safety technology adoption, root cause analysis, CAPEX submissions, vendor coordination, and growth-focused fleet strategies preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or related field strongly desired
