Purpose:

Safely operate vehicles to transport equipment for the dealership.   During delivery, this person may instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures.

Responsibilities: 

• Transports equipment to/from customers and/or between dealer facilities primarily using a rollback truck
• Supports the sales department with equipment delivery as needed
• May assist the parts department with part order pickups
• Maintains activity records and obtains necessary signatures and receipts
• May offload semi-trucks as needed
• Maintains all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA, and company policy
• Accountable for all time and distance traveled in performing assigned duties
• May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures as required
• May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
• Operates and maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
• Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
• Other appropriate responsibilities assigned by manager

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge: 

• 1+ years' experience pulling a gooseneck, tilt, or utility trailer; experience as a semi-truck operator is a plus.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
• Experience in hauling irregular and oversized loads.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and safe driving practices.
• Knowledge of proper load securement techniques.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Driving record that meets insurance company parameters.
• Ability to lift items weighing 75 lbs. repeatedly.
• Ability to pass DOT physical examination and obtain Medical Examiner's Certificate may be required.
