Veterinary Receptionist

San Pablo Animal Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking an experienced full time Veterinary Receptionist for our three doctor small animal hospital. We have been in private practice for over 30 years and have developed a relationship with our patients and clients. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of providing superior customer service and possesses excellent communication skills, who is friendly, professional and courteous to clients and to co-workers. It is important for this person to be able to multi-task with high call volume, in clinic clients, and chart handling. They must also be able to handle computer scheduling and electronic medical records, receive cash and credit card payments, and maintain accurate medical records. We are seeking an individual with an infectious positive attitude, reliable work ethic, who adores pets and people.

We strive for excellent patient care, client service, client education, and team work. The hours for this position are 7:30am – 6:00 pm, 4 days/week, and 7:30- Noon, every other Saturday.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet clients in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
• Answer multi-line phone system and direct calls accordingly
• Admit patients to hospital, entering information on patients/clients into computer
• Maintain files and complete, accurate, medical records
• Make sure the lobby and reception areas are organized and neat
• Able to adequately triage "urgent" cases and schedule them appropriately or refer to local ER clinics
• Previous use of EzyVet medical records highly desirable
• Answer client questions about basic general pet health, such as vaccination status, heartworm preventatives, flea treatments, age appropriate food discussions, and basic knowledge of common diseases treated in general practice
• File, and distribute documents, prescriptions, and medical record requests
• Obtain cash and credit card payments from clients
• Check front-desk mail and email and handle or forward as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education

High School diploma

College or post high school training desirable

Experience with EzyVet
