Custodial Maintenance

CUSTODIAL/MAINTENANCE

Midwest Technical Institute, an established career college with campuses throughout the Midwest and Mississippi Delta region, is seeking to fill a Custodial/Maintenance position for our Springfield, MO campus.

GOAL: To create and maintain a clean, up to date and in good repair learning and working environment for students and faculty/staff of Midwest Technical Institute (MTI).

Hours: Day shift (flexible hours)

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.

· Must have prior custodial/janitorial/maintenance experience.

· Satisfactory computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Windows environment.

· Have a professional attitude and manner that reflects the high standards of MTI.

· Ability to communicate and interact effectively with faculty, staff, students and visitors of MTI.

· Have strong organizational skills and detail oriented.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to multi-task and succeed with strict guidelines.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

· Empty all trash cans in offices, classrooms and labs.

· Vacuum all offices and classrooms.

· Vacuum rugs in hallways and entries.

· Clean windows and doors at entries.

· Clean bathrooms and restock toilet paper, paper towels, and soap dispensers.

· Clean student break areas.

· Polish water fountains.

· Dry mop hallways.

· Pick up trash around building, along fence and in parking lot.

· Check copy room for boxes.

· Straighten chairs and sanitize/wipe tables in student break areas.

· Sweep and mop HVAC floor.

· Check MA, DA and PT labs for soap and paper towels.

· Check massage rooms for trash and straighten up.

· Clean lobby and vestibules.

· Shovel snow and spread salt as necessary.

· Dry mop and/or sweep Cosmo floor.

· Clean and wet mop Cosmo rubber mats and rubber mat in welding hallway.

· Maintain effective communication with floor cleaning company.

· Hang white boards, clocks, pictures, etc. as needed.

· Paint walls and shampoo carpets as needed.

· Replace stained ceiling tiles.

· Repair equipment and/or supplies as needed.

· Maintain all city and state inspections and/or tests (fire, elevator, emergency lights, etc.)

· Mow the grassy areas.

· Maintain the landscaping which includes pulling weeds and watering plants and trees.

· Maintain and organize the tools, supplies and other contents of the maintenance room.

· Maintain and organize the building keys and disbursal of the keys to employees.

· The ability and willingness to travel to Lowe's, Menards, Wal-Mart, etc. for supplies, tools and equipment.

· The availability to be on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week in the event that the security alarm has been triggered.
