Role Overview:
is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and proactive VP of Communications to lead our communications strategy, brand reputation, and executive thought leadership efforts. This leader will oversee all aspects of corporate, product, and crisis communications, working across B2B, B2C, and government audiences to build trust, drive industry leadership, and shape public perception of our brand and of our products.
The ideal candidate is a strong strategic communicator, media strategist, seasoned storyteller, opportunist, crisis navigator, and with a proven track record of driving business objectives through both offensive and defensive communications. They love navigating complex topics such as identity, privacy and security. They equally enjoy shaping high-level strategy as getting into the details of the work. They will be a player-coach with our team and our agency. They will be responsible for ensuring our company stands out in a competitive landscape while protecting and strengthening our reputation in moments of opportunity and challenge.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Communications & Thought Leadership
- Develop and execute a holistic communications strategy that establishes the company as an industry leader and innovator in the tech space.
- Oversee executive communications, including blogs, media interviews, and thought leadership content for key leaders.
- Drive strategic content such as published papers, industry insights, and co-branded announcements to reinforce credibility and differentiation.
- Partner with Marcom to develop and manage a content strategy for owned and earned channels to amplify key narratives.
- Develop an ongoing stream of compelling stories that highlight our brand, our product value, and the people we serve.
- Identify strategic opportunities and forge relationships with partners for co-authorship on key industry topics.
- Oversee press and PR strategies, including product launches, industry recognition, and strategic partnerships.
- Lead co-branded announcements with customers and partners, ensuring alignment and amplification of shared messages.
- Shape our relationship with top-tier media, analysts, and influencers to shape public perception and drive positive coverage, supported by our comms agency.
- Craft compelling defensive statements and responses to media inquiries to safeguard the company's reputation.
- Lead industry recognition efforts, securing speaking opportunities, and high-profile engagements that elevate the company's stature.
- Identify and position for industry awards and ratings, both for b2b and b2c.
- Oversee corporate participation in key industry events, conferences, and forums, positioning executives as thought leaders.
- Oversee key channels and amplify strategic narratives.
- Develop proactive risk mitigation strategies to anticipate and navigate potential threats to the company's reputation.
- Serve as the frontline leader in managing crises, issues, and sensitive matters, ensuring swift and strategic responses.
- Manage the company's presence on employer branding platforms (e.g., Glassdoor, LinkedIn) to ensure transparency and authenticity in external-facing messaging.
- Strong storyteller.
- 15+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or corporate affairs, with at least 6 years in a senior leadership role.
- Deep experience working with B2B, B2C, and government stakeholders in the technology sector.
- Proven success in crisis management, reputation defense, and high-stakes corporate storytelling.
- Strong media and analyst relations experience, with a track record of securing high-impact coverage.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to influence C-level executives and cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing internal communications to drive engagement and alignment.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory and policy landscapes, particularly in tech-related industries.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
The annual base salary listed does not include a company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity and benefits which will be determined based on experience, skills, education, relevant training, geographic location and role.
