Junk Removal Driver

Job Responsibilities

The junk removal driver / sales representative is responsible for driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) as well as removing, and disposing of unwanted goods from customers homes and businesses. The driver should have general knowledge of functional support areas, including the core business, customer service, sales, and CMV's.

Essential Job Functions

• Conduct on-site assessments to accurately evaluate the volume, type, and cost of junk for removal.
• Utilize your sales skills to convert inquiries into on-site sales.
• Actively pursue new business opportunities through effective lead generation, prospecting, and networking.
• Safely, responsibly, and professionally operate the CMV's and monitor their functionality.
• Responsible for checking and monitor truck fluid levels and basic functionality.
• Accurately estimate the charges for services onsite based on items to be removed and complete all required paperwork. Responsbile for making sure paperwork and revenues collected are properly submitted at the end of each work day.
• Organize and secure truck at the end of each job and ensure truck and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and professional manner.
• Conduct pre/post trip truck inspections and equipment inventory.
• Safely remove any unwanted items from the cutomer's home or business by utilizing all of the proper hauling equipment and techniques and following the necessary prescribed policies.
• Must be in a clean, approved TWO MEN AND A JUNK TRUCK uniform at all times without exception.
• Maintain a positive image of TWO MEN AND A JUNK TRUCK by ensuring proper hygiene.
• Ensure compliance with the policies laid out in the employee handbook and/or presented by management.

Participates in regular training and development programs offered through STICK MEN UNIVERSITY to further the knowledge of the system.

• Other duties as assigned by franchisee, operations manager, move manager and/or office manager.

Education/Experience

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least a 3 year driving history (personal or commerical) is required.
• 21 years or older is required.
• One year previous driving expirence with Commercial Motor Vehicle preferred.

• Have strength and agility to carry and load items into truck as well as a good sense of balance.

• At least 21 years old and one year of driving experience is required.
• Language Skills: ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization; bilingual is a plus
• Mathematical Skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of United States dollars and weight measurements, volume, distance and time.
• Reasoning Ability: ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations with limited standardized procedures. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished with written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Physical Demands: the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, sit, hear, use hands and fingers, handle, feel and/or life with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift 100 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
