Position: Line Cook/Prep
Pay: $19 per hour plus tips
Hours: 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Location: Kalei's Kitchenette, San Diego

Role overview
The Line Cook supports daily kitchen operations by preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes and quality standards. This role plays a key part in food safety, cleanliness, speed, and teamwork to deliver a great guest experience in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items accurately and efficiently
• Follow recipes and plating standards with consistency
• Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked for service
• Maintain proper sealing, labeling, and dating of food items
• Inspect ingredients and use only fresh, high-quality products
• Discard and log items that do not meet quality standards
• Follow all health code requirements and food safety protocols
• Clean and sanitize prep areas, equipment, and utensils
• Organize and rotate food items according to safety standards and company policy
• Operate kitchen equipment responsibly and report maintenance needs
• Support deep cleaning and sanitizing across kitchen stations
• Assist with customer interactions when needed, offering friendly and professional service
• Follow and promote safety procedures at all times
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement
• Uphold and support all company policies and procedures
