The student office assistant will serve as the Harmon College Business and Professional Studies (HCBPS) front desk receptionist and student assistant to the full time personnel within the Dean's suite. This will include the responsibilities of serving as the Dean's office first point of contact to greet and assist students, faculty, staff and other visitiors.
Examples of DutiesDuties Include:
- Daily operational tasks such as addressing questions in person, over the phone and via electronic means.
- Maintaining confidentiality of organizational information.
- Reserving classrooms and study rooms.
- Opening/closing building rooms & offices.
- Being the liaison for the Administrative Assistant.
- Clerical tasks such as scanning, copying, filing, shredding, checking mail, update and organize bulletin board content weekly.
- Preparing conference room for meetings.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Project related duties will consist of assisting with the coordination and hosting of Harmon College events and other special projects.
Education:
- Position is open to undergraduate (Freshman-Junior standing) students only with a minimum GPA of 2.75 majoring in the HCBPS areas of: Social Work, Communication Disorders, Human Development & Family Science, Criminal Justice, Military Science & Leadership, Aviation, Accountancy, Economics, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Big Data & Business Analytics, International Business, Management, Sport Management, Marketing or Events Marketing & Management.
- Graduate students are not eligible for this position.
Experience:
- Attention to detail
- Communication skills to include oral, written and/or verbal
- Knowledge of University environment preferred
- Organization/project leadership
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality
Working Hours:
- 20 hours per week
