Job Summary

The HVAC/HVACR Technician/Mechanic will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/HVACR) systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. Your role involves diagnosing system malfunctions, performing routine maintenance, and addressing repair needs in both residential and commercial settings. You will work with a variety of HVAC/HVACR equipment, including, boilers, chillers, ERV units, AHU units, air conditioners, heat pumps, freezers, coolers, and other ventilation systems, while adhering to safety standards and local codes. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential for success in this role.

Job Duties

  • Install, repair, and maintain HVAC/HVACR systems, including air conditioners, heaters, coolers, freezers, and ventilation systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with HVAC/HVACR equipment and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC/HVACR systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations, including EPA guidelines for refrigerants.
  • Respond to emergency repairs promptly and work efficiently to resolve issues.
  • Work closely with other technicians, supervisors, and other departments to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in other Engineering related issues non-pertaining to HVAC/HVACR as needed.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HAVC/HVACR training program or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Proven experience as an HVAC/HVACR Technician/Mechanic; 2-5 years.
  • Valid HVAC/HVACR certification Required. (EPA 608 Universal License Required)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in using HVAC/HVACR tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Position requires regular, reliable attendance.
  • Good team spirit.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces.
  • Requires manual dexterity.
  • Must be flexible to work any day of the week, weekends, and holidays if assigned.
