Job Summary:
The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for managing the admissions process for new residents, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience. This role involves coordinating with families, healthcare providers, and internal teams to facilitate admissions while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for hospital contacts, prospective residents and their families, providing information and guidance throughout the admissions process.
- Coordinate and process admissions paperwork, including insurance verification and medical documentation.
- Collaborate with medical staff, social workers, and external agencies to ensure smooth transitions for residents.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct facility tours and answer inquiries about services and care options.
- Perform clerical tasks, such as scheduling, data entry, and managing inquiries.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred but not required
Wage is competitive and based on experience
- Experience in a medical or clerical role is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Compassionate, team-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional customer service.
Preferred but Not Required:
- Background in healthcare, medical office administration, or skilled nursing facility operations.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance processes.
