Human Resources Generalist

We are looking for a full-time, on-site Human Resources Generalist to help keep our building, property, and basic systems running smoothly. This role focuses on day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating work with contractors, while ensuring the facility stays clean, safe, and in good working order.

Your Responsibilities

Responsibilities and duties

  • Employee onboarding and offboarding:
    • Manage new employee orientation and onboarding processes.
    • Process new hire paperwork and maintain employee records.
    • Conduct exit interviews and manage the offboarding process.
  • Performance management and development:
    • Support the performance management process, including performance reviews.
    • Assist in developing employee training programs and development plans.
  • HR administration:
    • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS database.
    • Assist in developing and updating HR policies and procedures.
    • Generate HR reports and analyze HR metrics.
  • Recruitment and hiring:
    • Post job openings, source candidates, screen resumes, and conduct interviews.
    • Coordinate with hiring managers, conduct reference checks, and assist with offer letters.
  • Benefits and compensation:
    • Administer employee benefits programs, including open enrollment and answering related questions.
    • Assist with payroll processing and compensation plan administration.
  • Employee relations and compliance:
    • Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies and procedures.
    • Address employee concerns, investigate complaints, and assist with conflict resolution.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of general HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with HRIS software is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is often preferred.

Qualifications
  • English required; Spanish a bonus
  • Must live within 45 minutes of Hackettstown, NJ
  • 2–4 years of experience in Human Resources, Manufacturing a plus
  • Detail-oriented and reliable
  • Comfortable in a fast-changing environment
  • Able to use email, spreadsheets, Google
  • Knowledge of GMP and SQF a Plus
