Barista

Department: Coffee Shop / Café Operations
Reports To: Coffee Shop Supervisor or Manager

The Barista provides exceptional customer service by preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages, while maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

• Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and ensure a positive guest experience.

• Prepare and serve espresso drinks, brewed coffee, teas, smoothies, and other menu items according to company recipes and presentation standards.

• Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and POS systems.

• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, seating areas, and equipment throughout the shift.

• Restock supplies, cups, and condiments as needed.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.

• Handle cash and credit transactions accurately; balance drawer at shift end if required.

• Assist with inventory and communicate stock shortages to management.

• Contribute to a team-oriented, professional, and friendly environment.

• Uphold brand standards and promote new products or seasonal offerings.

• Previous barista or food service experience preferred but not required (training provided).

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

• Basic math and cash-handling skills.

• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.

• Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
