Senior Database Administrator/Systems Engineer to support critical data center operations. This role is essential to maintaining our enterprise-grade infrastructure, which includes comprehensive Oracle, PostgreSQL, IBM DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server database administration across Production, Development, and Test environments. The successful candidate will manage our complex virtualized environment consisting of 300+ VMware virtual servers and physical rack-mounted systems,integrated with NetApp All Flash array and legacy EMC SAN storage solutions and will be a key participant in their migration and refactoring in the AWS cloud. Key responsibilities encompass advanced IBM Cognos Business Intelligence administration,web services management, and enterprise backup operations using CommVault Complete Data Protection platform and AWS Backup utilities to perform for nightly server and database backups. This position requires expertise in maintaining high availability, multi-tier database environments while ensuring optimal performance, security, and disaster recovery capabilities across all systems supporting the Maryland State Department of Education's educational data infrastructure. This role demands a technical professional capable of managing complex enterprise systems in a mission-critical environment where uptime and data integrity are paramount to supporting educational services across the state.

ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATION
Core Functions:
• Database installation, configuration, and version upgrades

• Database reorganization through export/import utilities
• Schema management including tables, indexes, and partitions
• Performance tuning including Oracle memory optimization
• Rollback segment and extent management
