Dispatch Supervisor

Job Description

The Lead Dispatcher is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising daily driver dispatch operations, ensuring that all routes, deliveries, and pickups are executed efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with company policies and DOT/FMCSA regulations. This leadership role requires strong operational judgment, real-time decision-making, and consistent communication with drivers, warehouse teams, customers, and management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and assign routes ensuring efficiency, on-time performance, and optimal use of resources.
• Monitor all units in real time through Motive, responding immediately to delays, incidents, or operational issues.
• Communicate clear instructions to drivers before, during, and after each trip, ensuring full understanding of routes and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations, especially Hours of Service (HOS) and safety requirements.
• Coordinate route changes and rescheduling due to accidents, weather conditions, mechanical failures, or other contingencies.
• Maintain communication with customers regarding the status of their deliveries and any eventuality.
• Prepare operational reports (daily/weekly/monthly) on performance, efficiency, and compliance.
• Collaborate with the administrative team on payroll, hours worked, and detention times.
• Promote a safe and collaborative work environment among drivers, warehouse personnel, and administrative staff.
• Analyze operational data and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and service quality.

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
