The Quality Engineer is responsible for creating, implementing, monitoring, and auditing quality systems and procedures. This role utilizes statistical techniques to improve process and product quality and reliability. The Quality Engineer will coordinate and implement Quality Assurance activities with Sales, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production during new product introductions, including supporting the launch process with PPAP submissions. Additional responsibilities include reviewing product quality issues for corrective action and collaborating with other engineers to develop and research new processes or improvements to existing processes and tooling.
Essential Responsibilities:~ Develop and implement Quality systems and documentation.
~ Build and maintain positive customer and supplier relationships.
~ Respond to, analyze, and resolve field complaints.
~ Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
~ Maintain Quality Log (customer complaints, corrective actions, supplier rejects).
~ Create and implement Quality standards.
~ Work with outside auditors to ensure compliance with standards (UL, ISO, etc.).
~ Assist in the development and reporting of Quality KPI's.
Non-Essential Responsibilities:~ Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:~ Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality-related roles.
~ Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:~ Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar certifications.
~ Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build effective teams.
~ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
~ Ability to use measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
~ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
~ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
~ Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
~ Proven ability to lead teams in problem resolution.
