Trailer Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Trailer Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment repair, automotive diagnostics, and mechanical systems. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trailers and related equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance. Candidates with dealership experience and expertise in various mechanical and electrical systems are highly encouraged to apply. Duties

• Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on trailers and heavy equipment using schematics and technical manuals
• Conduct repairs on transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC units, and diesel engines
• Replace or repair shocks & struts, tires, brakes, and other critical components using hand tools and power tools
• Fabricate parts or modifications as needed for custom or specialized trailer repairs
• Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, and tractor-trailers for moving equipment or parts safely
• Use welding and soldering techniques for structural repairs or component fabrication
• Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
• Assist with assembly and disassembly of trailer components during repairs or upgrades
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs and maintenance procedures to clients

Experience

• Dealership experience or background in automotive repair strongly preferred
• Proven experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers
• Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, industrial equipment, farm machinery, and service technician roles
• Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, air brake systems, alignment procedures, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, diesel engine repair, tire service, welding, and general equipment repair
• Experience working with hand tools and power tools in a maintenance or repair setting
• Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service experience are a plus

Pay: $ $30.43 per hour
