What we're looking for

Summit Mountain Rentals/BonHom is looking for a strong leader who is competent, energetic, and highly skilled in communications and people management to join our team as Maintenance Manager.

The Maintenance Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in overseeing the Maintenance Department, with a strong emphasis on team development, performance management, and operational excellence. This position ensures the optimal functionality and visual appeal of our vacation rental properties while fostering a high-performing, collaborative maintenance team. The role requires regular travel across our markets to support team operations and ensure consistent standards across locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Maintenance team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and excellence.
  • Oversee staffing, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to ensure team alignment with SMR standards.
  • Coordinate and monitor work orders, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure quality working relationships with vendors.
  • Manage on-call scheduling, including overnight coverage, to maintain operational readiness 24/7.
  • Develop a meeting and team interaction schedule to maintain culture, review performance, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and track inventory to support efficient maintenance operations.
  • Travel across our markets to support team members, inspect facilities, and ensure consistent execution of maintenance protocols.
  • Manage departmental budget (P&L) to achieve breakeven targets while optimizing resource allocation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments and contribute to company-wide initiatives as part of a team-first culture
  • As a member of the SMR/BonHom team, all staff are required to be willing and able to assist in any function of the company on an as needed basis. A team approach means all are willing to help when called for.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in property maintenance or a related field, with a strong track record of team leadership.
  • Exceptional people management skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and lead diverse teams.
  • Working knowledge of building systems, HVAC equipment, and maintenance best practices.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and resolve conflicts.
  • Proficiency in management software and scheduling tools.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to across our markets (Summit County, CO and Walton County, FL as needed
  • Willingness to work weekends when needed.

Pay: $88,000.00 per year
