Job Description
Position: Grandparent Support Network (GSN) Program Coordinator
Classification: Full Time, Exempt
Hours: Thursday nights are mandatory, and must be willing to work some evenings and weekends
Reports to: HER Path Director
Program Overview: The YWCA Grandparent Support Network Program (GSN) is a support group for grandparents and other relatives providing full-time care to children ages 0-21.
Position Summary: The GSN Program Coordinator carries out the responsibility for program development and implementation of GSN; empowering grandparents and other relatives and providing full-time support to grandchildren to enhance family protective factors such as knowledge of parenting and child development, resiliency, concrete support in times of need, and social support. To also provide support for grandchildren to progress in their academic and career goals, as well as their social and emotional development. Responsibilities include supervising children's program staff, working with children, adolescents, and grandparents at weekly group, case management services, parenting education, linkages with community resources, attending school and community meetings with participants, working collaboratively with volunteers, and building community relationships and support.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or relevant human services field
- At least one year of experience in the human services field
- Excellent administrative and managerial skills.
- Ability to carry leadership roles such as facilitating discussions, teaching, and public speaking.
- Knowledge of local community resources and organizations
- Passion and experience with parenting education and support
- A valid North Carolina Driver's License.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate weekly group meetings on Thursday evenings throughout the year;
- Coordinate and plan weekly program regarding nightly agenda by planning speakers, activities, and events for 20-25 adolescents;
- Provide case management services for 45-50 program families, including developing individualized goal plans and connecting participants with resources as appropriate to meet their goals;
- Coordinate with Group Leaders and Grandparent Leadership Council to execute the 9-Week Celebration; collecting grades for the quarterly report; creating goal plans for clients who are digressing or underperforming academically and behaviorally.
- Supervise program group leaders as needed;
- Recruit, screen, and provide information for new GSN families;
- Work collaboratively with YWCA staff and volunteers to provide individual and peer group support to grandparents and grandchildren in a variety of settings;
- Implement Circle of Parents Model during group activities with fidelity.
- Meet weekly with the Program Advisors to discuss program management, weekly group, and case management, and seek out support more often as needed;
- Meet bi-weekly with the HER Path Director to discuss programs management, weekly group, and case management, implementation of additional programs, and seek out support as often as needed;
- Maintain data about program activities per program and grant requirements;
- Work with Program Advisor to submit grant proposals, fundraising-related writing projects, and grant reports;
- Assist with Community Advisory Council's quarterly meetings and record meeting minutes;
- Provide case management and resource connection as needed;
- Provide case management and resources with high school seniors to ensure all participants graduate from high school.
Additional Requirements:

- Community Service and Involvement: Fulfill the mission and values of the YWCA through program implementation and model behaviors of community service and advocacy for the YWCA and women's, youth, and community issues. Take an active role in activities and events within the YWCA.
- Professional Development: Commit to 10 hours of annual professional development to improve program outcomes.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality regarding staff, families, and children at all times and relate to families positively and respectfully.

Pay: $41, $45,000.00 per year
