Shop Supervisor

Join our dynamic team at Kin-Tech, a leading precision machining company with a focus on CNC Milling and Turning. We primarily serve the Defense industry, playing a crucial role in producing complex components that drive advancements for the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program.

Job Posting: Shop Supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Daily Oversight: Supervise day-to-day operations on the shop floor, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and delivery deadlines are met.
• Scheduling: Coordinate labor and machine scheduling based on priorities and capacity. Communicate daily priorities clearly to the team.
• Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to machinists and shop assistants. Conduct check-ins and help resolve challenges.
• Quality Checks: Perform in-process and final inspections as needed, ensuring compliance with print specifications and customer requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify process inefficiencies and collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineer to implement improvements.
• Tooling & Supplies: Monitor tooling and supply needs, and ensure availability to avoid downtime.
• Safety & Cleanliness: Enforce shop safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Communication: Serve as a liaison between the shop floor and management, keeping leadership informed of production status and issues.
• Support Functions: Assist with machining, setup, and troubleshooting when needed to keep work moving.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years experience in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment
• Experience supervising or leading a team preferred
• Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, tooling, and quality inspection techniques
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job travelers
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards a plus
