Kennel Assistant

Kennel Assistant (Full-Time) & Dog Training Opportunity

We are a private working dog kennel facility in Vernon seeking a reliable and motivated person who is passionate about dogs and eager to learn kennel management and advanced dog training techniques.

Position Details (Required)

· Full-time position, 40 hours per week

· Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays

· Reliable personal transportation required – no public bus service available

· Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (proof required)

Responsibilities

· Daily care and supervision of dogs

· Cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining kennels and common areas

· Feeding, exercising and monitoring dog health and behaviour

· Ensuring a safe, clean and structured environment for our dogs

Qualifications

· Strong interest in animal care and dog behaviour

· Dependable, punctual and physically capable

· A keen interest in advanced dog training programs is an asset

· Willingness to learn and follow established protocols

· Team-oriented with a strong work ethic

· Physically able to handle active dogs

· Able to perform cleaning duties

What We Offer

· $18.00/hour to start, increase dependent on experience

· Hands-on experience with working dog breeds

· Optional on-site accommodation available

We are just outside of the City (about 5 km from city centre) and not on a bus route. You will need your own reliable transportation to get to and from work. Our shifts are generally 8 hours a day but flexibility is necessary. Our day starts at 7:00 am and ends at 8:00 pm seven days a week. The average week is 40 hours, based on 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. You must be available for all shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.

Compensation starts at $18.00/hour and will increase depending on experience and job performance.
