Job Description:

Set up, operate, and maintain breathing air trailers and related equipment to supply continuous, safe breathing air to workers operating in confined spaces or other hazardous environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of both the air trailer and towing vehicle.
  • Complete and verify all TDG documentation prior to transport or operation.
  • Confirm all fit tests are verified and documented for SCBA and SABA users before use.
  • Set up the breathing air system following Avenge procedures, ensuring components are clean and free from damage.
  • Inspect all hose lines, fittings, and regulators prior to use to confirm integrity and prevent leaks.
  • Operate and monitor air delivery systems, maintaining stable airflow throughout confined space operations.
  • Conduct SCBA and SABA pre-use inspections and ensure proper function before deployment.
  • Manage SCBA refilling operations, ensuring cylinders are refilled safely, tracked, and recorded in trailer logs.
  • Maintain accurate air trailer logs, cylinder inventories, and inspection records throughout the project.
  • Monitor air system performance continuously and address any irregularities promptly.
  • Coordinate with Safety Watch and site supervision to ensure continuous supply and safe operations.
  • Follow all Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations for compressed air cylinders and documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and contamination control for all breathing air components and fittings.
  • Participate in tailgate meetings, JHAs, and hazard assessments to ensure full understanding of work scope and safety expectations.
  • Adhere to Avenge Energy Services safety policies, SOPs, and applicable OHS regulations at all times.
  • Support ongoing maintenance and readiness of the Avenge breathing air trailer fleet.
  • Follow all Avenge Energy Services policies, client site rules, and OHS legislation related to Breathing Air
  • Hook up and disconnect trailers safely, confirming all electrical and safety connections are secure.
  • Tow (pull) air trailers in compliance with Avenge Energy Services and provincial transportation/TDG requirements.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 5 driving license with clean abstract
  • Three (3) years towing experience
  • Three (3) year Oil & Gas Sites, Pipeline work experience - preferred
  • Above average computer and smart phone safety app experience
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time
  • On call rotations, night shifts, weekends, holidays and over-time expected
  • Ability to pass pre-employment, re-occurring customer pre-access and post incident drug and alcohol testing. Fit for duty requirement throughout the year.
