ABOUT NO LONGER BOUND:
No Longer Bound is a long-term, residential, faith-based, clinical treatment program for men in addiction. Located in Cumming, Georgia, we are one of the nation's premiere addiction recovery programs. We believe in transformation beyond sobriety through lasting intimacy with God, self and others. We are one of the most affordable programs in the nation, because we supplement the cost of care through fundraising and our social enterprises. Most of our staff at NLB consist of men and women personally impacted by addiction, whether by their personal experience or the experience of a loved one.

OVERVIEW:

The Resident Technician for No Longer Bound is responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for residents in a residential addiction treatment facility. This support staff member is responsible for monitoring resident location, providing direction, and ensuring resident safety.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise Residents:

  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for residents in a residential addiction treatment facility

  • Monitor resident behavior and report any concerns to the Program Team

  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to residents throughout their treatment

  • Assist with resident transportation and escort residents to appointments as needed

Ensure Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure resident safety by monitoring the facility and responding to any emergency situations.

  • Assist with drug screens and searches (person and property)

  • Monitor the campus to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents

  • Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing training and professional development

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Experience: a minimum of 1 year of continuous sobriety, high school diploma or equivalent

  • Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a residential addiction treatment facility preferred

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle emergency situations
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to individuals in recovery
  • Strong organizational and ability to multi-task
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Valid Driver's License. At least three years of no accidents on driving record is preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Physical Demands: The employee may need to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, working at a desk or computer workstation, and the Resident Technician is often on their feet for extended periods while supervising and monitoring the residents. The person in this position frequently communicates with clients and colleagues, exchanging accurate information in various situations. This position will need to occasionally move boxes and other items weighing up to 20 pounds across the campus for various needs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include far and close vision requirements due to computer work, observing surroundings, etc. The Resident Technician may need to respond quickly to incidents. The ability to hear sounds and recognize different types of noises is also important.
