Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate medical documentation.
- Support medication administration under supervision and assist with basic medical procedures following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans in settings such as medical-surgical units, ICU, emergency departments, or outpatient clinics.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care or phlebotomy when trained and authorized to do so.
- Support patients experiencing complex conditions like trauma in Level I Trauma Centers or critical illnesses in ICU environments by delivering attentive and responsive care.
- Engage in patient education on health management topics relevant to geriatrics, pediatrics, or behavioral health needs.
Requirements
- Valid CNA certification from an accredited program with current licensure in the state of employment.
- Prior experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including ICU and trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient care.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient information.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages—including children—and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting patients using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices while maintaining safety standards.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous.
- Familiarity with specialized care areas such as hospice, infectious disease management, pediatric intensive care (PICU), or behavioral health is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and practicing infection control measures diligently across all patient interactions.
