AUTEC Car Wash Systems, along with our partner brands PHYZIX Chemistry and Peak Wash Solutions, is expanding — and we're looking for a Controls-Focused Electrical Engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and loves building smarter, more reliable automated systems.
If you enjoy working across multiple products, teams, and technologies — and want to see your controls work drive real-world mechanical, chemical, and wash performance — this is the place to grow.
What You'll Lead
As a key member of the Engineering Team, you'll design, test, and support the controls and electrical systems that power all three brands across our equipment and backroom solutions.
In this high-impact role, you will:
- Design, program, and refine PLC-based control systems (Siemens, Rockwell, etc.) used across AUTEC equipment and Peak Wash installs
- Build and debug ladder logic, HMIs, system sequences, and automation routines
- Integrate VFDs, servo drives, motors, encoders, sensors, and industrial safety components
- Partner with PHYZIX to ensure controls integration works seamlessly with chemical delivery and reclaim systems
- Create and maintain schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and documentation in AutoCAD
- Develop and execute testing protocols to validate electrical and controls performance
- Support the Manufacturing and Fabrication teams with controls questions, wiring accuracy, and build validation
- Work cross-functionally with Service to provide advanced controls troubleshooting and field support
- Participate in daily engineering huddles, project reviews, and multi-team collaboration sessions
- Research and introduce new automation technologies that improve performance, reliability, and customer experience
- Stay up to date with NEC/NFPA, UL 508A, ETL standards, and evolving automation trends
What You Bring
We're looking for someone who loves solving problems, working with others, and pushing systems forward.
Ideal candidates have:
- Strong competency in controls engineering, PLC logic, and industrial automation
- Experience reading, creating, and troubleshooting electrical schematics
- Knowledge of NEC/NFPA standards, UL 508A, and industrial safety requirements
- Experience with VFDs, servos, sensors, and motion control
- Familiarity with pneumatics/hydraulics used in automated equipment
- A degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Strong communication and teamwork mindset — you'll interact daily with Engineering, Service, Operations, Fabrication, and Chemical teams
- Ability to switch between projects and support multiple brands without missing a beat
Why This Role Stands Out
You won't be siloed. You'll touch equipment, controls, chemical systems, water systems, automation, and field performance — across three fast-growing brands working together to transform the car wash industry.
What you'll gain:
- A collaborative, team-first environment
- Ownership over full controls life cycle: design → build → test → support
- Opportunities to innovate and introduce new automation technologies
- Competitive wages + medical, dental, and vision plans
- 401(k) match
- Paid time off and holidays
- Clear advancement opportunities as our brands grow
- The chance to directly influence next-generation AUTEC and Peak Wash systems
AUTEC, PHYZIX, and Peak Wash have spent 40+ years building a reputation for reliability, innovation, and teamwork. Now we're entering our next chapter — and we're looking for a Controls Engineer ready to help build what comes next.
