The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and autonomous
Outside Sales Manager
to join our team, based out of a key industrial facility
25 miles from Chattanooga, TN
. Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales, you will be responsible for promoting and selling a specialized, essential
metal coatings service
directly to the steel fabrication market within an exclusive, high-potential territory. Territory includes Tennessee and Northern GA and will require some overnight travel, with high autonomy in setting travel schedule.

Compensation & Benefits Package

We offer a highly competitive structure designed to reward top performers:

  • Base Salary Range:
    $85,000 – $95,000
  • Performance Bonus:
    Up to
    30%
    of Base Salary
  • Vehicle Allowance:
    Generous
    Monthly Car Allowance
    (based on region/ ~ mo.)
  • Total Target Compensation (TTC):
    $110,500 to $123,500 + Vehicle Allowance

Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties

You will serve as the primary relationship owner for your territory, driving revenue through strategic and active sales engagement:

  • Territory Management:
    Plan, organize, and execute daily and weekly sales activities within your region, involving regular travel (with occasional cross-region trips).
  • Business Development:
    Actively follow up on sales leads and aggressively pursue new business through cold calls to prospective customers in the steel fabrication sector.
  • Consultative Sales:
    Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and interests to recommend tailored service solutions.
    Note: Candidates will be trained on the
    galvanizing process
    and how the service adds long-term value to customer products.
  • Quoting & Negotiation:
    Prepare and present service quotes, negotiate turn times, delivery dates, and work with customers on large project bids.
  • Market Intelligence:
    Monitor market conditions, competitor activities, and industry innovations to inform sales strategy.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with operations and sales colleagues to share best practices, market information, and selling strategies.
  • Networking:
    Participate in relevant trade organizations, shows, and conferences as needed.

Qualifications & Attributes

Required

  • 1-3 years of proven sales or customer service experience, preferably within an industrial or B2B environment.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A self-starter with a strong drive, high motivation, and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow professionally within a specialized industrial niche.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a large territory independently.
