Position Summary:

Kiddiegarten School of Maple Grove is hiring for a full-time Assistant School Director position. Applicants recognize and appreciate the uniqueness of children and enjoy spending time with them. Must be knowledgeable in child development; caring, honest, respectful, responsible and enjoy spending time with young children. If you are patient, personable and positively-motivated, this is a wonderful opportunity that offers the privilege of guiding children through many exciting milestones while fostering their natural tendency to learn through intentional play. This position reports to the School Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience.
  • Montessori experience a plus.
  • Sound knowledge of DHS Rule 3 and Minnesota Department of Health requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education curriculum, MN Early Childhood Indicators of Progress (ECIPS).
  • Knowledge of regional and national accreditation requirements (i.e. ParentAware, AdvancED, NAEYC, AMS, AMI).
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Good PC skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communications and customer service skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Applicant must have high energy and self-motivation.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is primarily performed in the center environment, both indoors and outdoors. Child care centers are dynamic with a high level of activity. Work may also be performed during field trips as well as at community sites for promotional activities. Incumbent must be able to lift 40 pounds, stand up during most of the day, assume postures in low level positions that best allow physical and visual contact with children, bend to perform various tasks numerous times throughout the day, stoop, sit on the floor, can move from a seated position to a standing position promptly to respond to emergency situations, perform all activities with children, i.e. jump, dance, walk, run, etc. for extended periods of time. Must possess acceptable hearing and visual capabilities to monitor the environment and children's well-being. Incumbent will need to be highly flexible and adaptable, able to engage in multiple tasks, able to respond quickly and appropriately to changing needs of children, staff, parents, and regulatory authorities.
