Role Overview

CommanderAI is looking for a proven Sales Development Representative to help lead our expansion into the $100B+ waste management sector. Your mission: close & generate deals with haulers by showing them how AI can radically improve how they find and win new business. If you've sold to the waste industry—and know what moves decision-makers—we want you leading the charge.

This is a full-cycle sales role for a high-output closer who thrives on opening doors, building relationships, and helping operators modernize through technology. If you've sold trucks, equipment, software, or services into the waste space and want to be on the frontlines of disruption, this is your arena.

  • Responsibilities:Prospect & Close: Own the full sales cycle—from targeting and outreach to closing and onboarding new customers across the waste and recycling space.
  • Industry Expertise: Leverage your deep understanding of hauler operations, equipment, or technology to tailor value-based pitches to each buyer.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate long-term relationships with decision-makers at private haulers & municipal contractors.
  • Territory Ownership: Build and manage a pipeline in your assigned territory (regional or national, depending on fit and focus).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering to relay customer feedback and help shape future features that solve real-world pain points.
  • Market Intelligence: Keep your finger on the pulse of the industry—competitors, trends, mergers, regulatory shifts—and report insights to the leadership team.
  • Qualifications:Waste Industry Experience: 3+ years selling into the waste and recycling sector—haulers, equipment dealers, OEMs, or municipal customers.
  • Proven Sales Results: History of hitting or exceeding quota in a B2B sales role. Bonus points if you've sold high-ticket items or consultative solutions.
  • Self-Starter: Highly motivated, resourceful, and hungry. You know how to create opportunity, not wait for it.
  • Strong Communicator: You know how to simplify the complex and build trust fast—with ops teams and CEOs alike.
  • Comfort with Tech: While you don't need to be an engineer, you should be comfortable selling innovative, tech-forward solutions.

  • Compensation: Competitive base + commission. Uncapped upside.
