Duties:
Performs substantially complex work in the planning, organization, administration, marketing, promotion, control and supervision of the activities related to the operation, safety, security, maintenance and development of the Avi Suquilla Airport. Responsible for all airport activity at the Colorado River Indian Tribes' Avi Suquilla Airport. The Manager directs administrative, operational and maintenance functions to ensure a safe, efficient, legal and profitable airport operation. The position entails accomplishing, supervising, coordinating and reviewing, airport operations and maintenance to include and airfield maintenance, community relations and coordinating airline requirements for airport facilities. Review airport tenant activities for compliance with terms of leases, contracts, agreements and enforces aircraft air and ground traffic and other applicable regulations, policies and procedures. Confer with airlines, tenants, the FAA, the Business Enterprise Board, the CRIT or any other involved parties regarding airport regulations, rates and fees, future development and construction on the airport. Determine and recommend personnel staffing requirements. Compile and submit an annual budget. Promote compatible airport activities and development in the surrounding community. Works under the general direction and supervision of the CRIT Business Enterprise Board and adopted Plan of Operation for the Avi Suquilla Airport.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or related field and five years of top-level airport management experience, or, 7 years of any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work. A pilot's license and American Association of Airport Executives Accreditation (A.A.E.) is desirable. Must be highly motivated and able to deal with the general public tactfully. High integrity and initiative. Able to perform with minimal direct supervision. Must be organized and able to problem-solve. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and after-hour emergencies.
