We are seeking a dedicated Order Picker to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately retrieving products from our warehouse shelves based on customer orders. This position is a critical component of our logistics network, ensuring that orders are picked correctly and efficiently to meet customer demands. A strong focus on safety is maintained, and all employees are required to follow established procedures and wear the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE ). Your primary duties will involve using scanning technology to locate and collect items, verifying quantities, and preparing them for the packing station. We are looking for individuals with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic warehouse environment. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse locations using order lists and scanning devices.
- Verify picked items against order requirements for accuracy.
- Transport picked items to the packing or staging area.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE .
- Participate in inventory checks and stock management as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics process.
- Perform tasks requiring physical activity, including standing, walking, and regular lifting of items up to 45 lbs.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve picking and fulfillment targets.
- Report any discrepancies or issues encountered during the picking process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand pick lists and product descriptions.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks, including lifting .
- Commitment to maintaining a safety -conscious workplace.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and scanning technology is beneficial.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
- Willingness to use designated PPE .
