Our Minneapolis, Minnesota location is seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to manage and coordinate outgoing shipments. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, verifying order details, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of shipping procedures and logistics. You will play a vital part in our supply chain, ensuring timely delivery of products to our customers. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify order details against shipping requirements to ensure accuracy.
- Schedule pickups with various carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL).
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Communicate with warehouse staff, sales, and customer service regarding shipment status.
- Ensure packages are properly labeled, weighed, and palletized.
- Operate shipping dock equipment, such as pallet jacks and scales.
- Maintain an organized shipping area and accurate records.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving duties as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain logistics.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
