We currently hold multi-year contracts with BC Hydro's distribution and transmission departments across Vancouver Island. At Adept, we promote a positive, team-focused culture and a commitment to excellence in every project.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate bucket trucks and aerial lifts for tree pruning, removal, and utility line clearance.
• Climb and rig trees for pruning and removal following industry standards.
• Inspect, maintain, and operate all tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, hand tools, and aerial lifts.
• Work in a way that keeps yourself, your team, and the public safe.
• Follow company and industry safety standards and help educate crew members on safe practices.
• Communicate clearly and positively with team members and clients.
• Help plan work tasks to keep projects efficient and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid BC driver's licence with a clean abstract.
• Certified Utility Arborist with Certificate of Qualification or registered as an Apprentice Utility Arborist (apprenticeship in progress is acceptable).
• ISA certification is an asset.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a crew environment.
• Comfortable working in a team environment and maintaining a positive attitude.
• High standard of safety awareness, including proper equipment inspections, climbing techniques, and tree pruning practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation

• CUA - $36–$44/hr (Certified Utility Arborist)
• AUA - $26–$32/hr (Apprentice Utility Arborist)
• Optional overtime opportunities

Location / Travel Requirement

• In-person work may require travel to various sites across Vancouver Island.
• Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to reach designated marshal points or meeting locations as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00-$44.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
