Junior Day Camp Counsellor

The City of Côte Saint-Luc is a dynamic municipality on the island of Montreal with a population of approximately The City prides itself on providing the highest level of services to its residents at a reasonable cost. We are currently looking to hire a Junior day camp instructor for the Recreation and leisure Department.

Role

The Junior day camp instructor is responsible for planning, leading, and participating in children and young people aged 5 to 11. The counselor must follow the safety procedures to ensure children's well-being attending the Camp and all scheduled activities. He must attend the training camp and apply the principles taught there throughout the summer.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• 35 to 40 hours per week
• June to August

Key Responsibilities

• Assists in the planning, participation and supervision of day camp activities for a group of young people, applies the department's rules and presents a positive image to the public.
• Reports to designed Park Leader or Coordinator
• Must participate in activities with young children
• Ensures on the safety of the group and on activities that the group will do outside the scheduled activity periods.
• Assists in the development of safe and stimulating activities
• Ensures the hygiene of the little ones
• Ensures that everyone has the chance to get involved
• Must attend the pre-season training session

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Bilingual
• Holds a Secondary V diploma or in process of obtaining one
