This positions can sit in either San Jose or Alameda, CA! The client is open to relocation.
Responsibilities
Perform Plumbing system design, and project planning for small and large projects
Present design options to project management and architect or client for resolution - prepare documentation (field design change requests, beyond normal scope reports, etc.)
Design and draft various plumbing systems including but not limited to sanitary DMW, domestic hot & cold water system, natural gas, storm system, process gases
Provide interpretations of all external codes, regulations, and specifications
Conduct calculations, design and size water heaters, booster pumps, process gas generation equipment like VAC pumps, CDA compressor and dryer etc
Perform and document field surveys of existing site conditions and equipment
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in the commercial construction space. Preferably someone that comes from the HVAC contracting industry.
Must have a deep understanding of the California Sate codes as well as the intricacies of mechanical systems and an overall knowledge of construction
HVAC and plumbing experience
EIT certification is preferred, but not required
Needs to be able to run projects on their own
Needs to have experience using AutoCAD and Trace 700. Experience with Revit 2023 or BIM is preferred, but not required.
Must have experience with Load calculation
