Full Time Veterinary Assistant

We are looking for someone to join our team that takes pride in their work and wants to be a leader in the field. They should have compassion for pets, their people, and their co-workers. This candidate is detail-oriented, great at communicating, always looking for something to do, quick to learn new tasks, and competent in math and computer skills. A minimum of one year of experience as a veterinary assistant/technician and current enrollment as a Veterinary Technician Student required.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Earning Fear Free Veterinary Professional certification
• Implementing tactics to reduce pets' fear and anxiety
• Educating clients on their pets' needs
• Assisting veterinarians in exam rooms
• Running in house laboratory tests and preparing samples to send out
• Caring for hospitalized patients
• Collecting blood samples and placing IV catheters
• Prepping and monitoring pets for surgery
• Cleaning teeth
• Hospital cleaning and maintenance
• Attending regular staff meetings during clinic hours

This is a full-time position with 35-40 hours a week. Hours will be scheduled during the following time frames: Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 6:30 pm and once a year holiday kennel rotation. Hours may extend later based on patient needs, but we really focus on getting you out on time.
