Position Overview:
As an Intake Worker, you will be one of the first members of the team to interact with our new clients when they enter our shelter site, so it is critical that you are welcoming and supportive at a very difficult time in their lives. You will work as an integral member of the social services team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting intake assessments for all new clients, ensuring that all required paperwork is completed, and all required progress notes and other information are entered into the DHS Cares system accurately and on a timely basis.
- Familiarizing new clients with the site, ensuring that they understand the requirements of the facility.
- Providing information and referral services to clients as needed and/or specified in their service plans.
- Advocating for clients and assisting in navigation of the service delivery system to ensure receipt of entitlement services and other services as appropriate.
You're a great fit for this role if you have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Capability to obtain and uphold First Aid/CPR certification.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interviewing skills.
- Excellent time management and organization skills.
- Availability to provide coverage as needed.
- Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft applications.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Compensation
Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage, prevailing wage, or exempt salary requirements under federal, state and local laws.
