Job Overview
Luminary Counseling Solutions—an established and rapidly growing, women-owned group practice in Illinois—is seeking a warm, skilled, and collaborative Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC/LCPC) to join our team of compassionate clinicians.
We specialize in providing high-quality, relationship-driven therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families. As a practice, we value authenticity, clinical excellence, and creating a supportive, growth-oriented environment for both clients and clinicians.
The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about making a meaningful impact, confident in their clinical skills, and eager to help shape the future of a flourishing private practice that prioritizes supportive culture and whole-family wellness.
This role focuses on providing outpatient psychotherapy—not medical social work—within a collaborative small-team setting. You will have autonomy, a steady referral stream, and an opportunity to bring or build specialties (pediatrics, family therapy, trauma, etc.) that enhance Luminary's service offerings.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations using DSM-5 diagnostic standards and evidence-based practices.
Provide individual, child, teen, and/or family counseling using modalities aligned with your strengths (e.g., CBT, ACT, play therapy, trauma-informed care, family systems, etc.).
Develop tailored treatment plans that support whole-person wellness, client-centered goals, and Luminary's collaborative approach to care.
Deliver specialized care based on your areas of expertise—such as child therapy, anxiety disorders, trauma-informed care, parent coaching, or couples/family work.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation within our EMR system, ensuring alignment with HIPAA, ethical guidelines, and best practice standards.
Participate in clinical collaboration and consultation with fellow Luminary clinicians to support client progress and clinician development.
Engage in occasional team meetings, trainings, or case discussions that contribute to Luminary's supportive and connected culture.
Manage crisis situations appropriately within the outpatient scope, ensuring safety planning and coordinated follow-up.
Optionally contribute to the growth of the practice by helping shape programming (e.g., child services expansion, workshops, parent groups).
Participate in ongoing professional development—Luminary encourages training, specialization, and continued clinical learning.
Experience & Qualifications
Active Illinois licensure: LCSW, LCPC, LPC, or those nearing clinical licensure with strong outpatient experience.
Demonstrated skill in providing outpatient psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities.
Experience working with children, teens, families, or adults with a range of presenting concerns (anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral issues, family stress, etc.).
Comfort and competence with EMR documentation, treatment planning, and diagnostic formulation.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build authentic relationships with clients and colleagues.
Prior outpatient, private-practice, or community mental-health experience preferred (hospital experience is welcome but not required).
Commitment to ethical care, cultural humility, and Luminary's values of warmth, professionalism, and whole-family support.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team environment.
Why Luminary Counseling Solutions?
Joining Luminary means becoming part of a close-knit team that truly values growth, flexibility, creativity, and whole-person wellness—both for clients and clinicians.
We offer:
A steady referral stream and waitlist of clients eager to schedule
Administrative and billing support so clinicians can focus on therapy
A beautiful, modern, warm office environment
Flexible scheduling options (full-time or part-time)
Supportive leadership that prioritizes work-life balance
