Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our compassionate veterinary team. This role combines front desk responsibilities with clinical support, providing essential pet care and client communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal handling, veterinary terminology, and clinic procedures, ensuring a seamless experience for both clients and their pets. Duties

• Greet clients and manage appointment scheduling at the front desk
• Answer phone calls, respond to client inquiries, and handle administrative tasks efficiently
• Assist with animal restraint during examinations and procedures
• Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with laboratory procedures, sample collection, and diagnostic testing
• Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files with treatment details
• Assist with animal husbandry, including kennel cleaning and maintaining a clean clinic environment
• Handle pet care activities such as feeding, walking, and monitoring animal behavior

Experience

• Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background preferred
• Veterinary assistant experience highly desirable
• Front desk or administrative experience in a veterinary clinic or pet care environment preferred
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and restraint techniques required
• Familiarity with medication administration, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques is beneficial
• Strong animal handling skills combined with excellent communication abilities are essential for success in this role

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
