Job Title: Network Security Consultant

Location: New York-2, NY / Onsite

Duration: 6 months

Competencies: Network Security - 10+ years experience required

Key responsibilities:

• Strategy and policy

Develop, implement, and maintain network security policies, procedures, and architecture.

Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.

• Technical management

Deploy and manage security tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.

Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and perform security analysis.

Perform and lead incident response and recovery after a security breach.

Lead troubleshooting and resolution for high-severity network security incidents.

Leadership and collaboration Lead and mentor a team of security specialists.

Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure security is integrated into new and existing systems.

Provide security awareness training to employees.

Stay informed about emerging threats and new technologies to proactively improve defenses.

Other Responsibilities

Responsible for coordination management of Firewall, Proxy, NAC and Vulnerability assessment

Monitoring of IT security operations

Help and support for incoming queries and issues related to IT security

Assess information security policy to meet current security trends Liaison with business team to understand security requirement suggest solutions

Provide accurate reports that demonstrate performance, drive improvement and prevent issues through various dashboard.

Establish periodical review of IT security to ensure appropriate security implementation.

Firewall management across enterprise-wide environment to include Firewall Configuration Backup and Restore, Site to Site IPSec VPN, Client to Site SSL VPN , Rule Base Changes, URL Spam Filtering, etc.

Availability management/Monitoring infra like management console and all integrated tools.

Conduct break-fix activities to support and resolve incidents related Site categorization, whitelisting, shared drives, endpoint agents and customer-initiated requests.

Troubleshoot Client related issues if correct Client file applied or not and Proxy setting are applied correctly on not.

Troubleshoot Browser related issue like site compatibility, site blocked url etc.

Basic network troubleshooting like DNS issue, site reachability, port issue etc.

Mandatory Skills and Competencies

Experience in managing IT security operations

Managing security technologies and solutions like

a. Firewall Management (Preferably Fortinet, Cisco or Palo Alto)

Strong oral written communication skills in English

Project Management skills

Reporting Governance skills
