Job Title: Data Analyst

Location: Remote with occasional on-site meetings in Sacramento, CA

Duration: Long Term Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources, including EM&V reports, metered data, and regulatory databases.
  • Develop and enhance dashboards, reports, and scenario analysis tools for forecasting energy savings, demand flexibility, and GHG reductions.
  • Perform statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and scenario analysis using Excel, R, and other platforms as needed.
  • Collaborate with consultants, clients, and regulatory agencies (CEC, CPUC, CCAs, utilities) to translate business and policy requirements into actionable data solutions.
  • Integrate and evaluate granular and geographically disaggregated data for localized impact analysis.
  • Support the development and management of work authorizations, progress reports, and final reports as required by project agreements.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of analytical platforms, including ontology-based frameworks and machine learning modules.
  • Ensure data integrity, compliance with industry standards, and alignment with California energy policy goals.
  • Lead project teams, offering training, and acting as a mentor to fellow team members.
  • Transforms business requirements into actionable features.
  • Delivers high-quality code resulting in minimal critical defects, reduced redo cycles, and sustainable maintenance and performance, mentors' jr.-mid level engineers and consultants.
  • Establishes code design patterns and templates.
  • Produces well-documented, easily comprehensible code while championing advanced agile methodologies and SDLC knowledge.
  • Demonstrates advanced proficiency in business analysis and presentation skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • IT Consulting experience is highly preferred, ideal candidate(s) will demonstrate a track record of successfully advising and providing solutions to strategic clients.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, R, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience performing data analytics and deriving insights from raw data using statistics, data mining, visualizations, and business intelligence techniques using Excel, Power BI, or other common analytics tools.
  • Experience with scenario analysis, forecasting, and regulatory compliance in the energy sector.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
  • Working with project tracking tools, such Azure DevOps (ADO) or JIRA
  • Working with diagramming tools such as Visio, LucidChart, or Miro

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of California energy efficiency, electrification, and decarbonization programs and regulations (SB 350, SB 846, etc.).
  • Experience with demand flexibility, scenario analysis, and advanced forecasting techniques.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), machine learning, and large language models.
  • Experience collaborating with regulatory agencies and multi-disciplinary teams.
