Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced North Indian Curry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indian cuisine, particularly in preparing authentic North Indian curries, and possess leadership skills to oversee kitchen operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary expertise in a dynamic restaurant environment, ensuring high-quality food preparation and exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook authentic North Indian curries and related dishes following traditional recipes and standards
  • Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient kitchen operations and adherence to food safety protocols
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering ingredients and maintaining stock levels for smooth kitchen functioning
  • Oversee food production, ensuring quality, presentation, and consistency of dishes served
  • Plan menus in collaboration with management, incorporating customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations
  • Train new staff on food preparation techniques, safety standards, and service procedures
  • Coordinate with catering and banquet departments for special events requiring North Indian cuisine
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are followed at all times

Experience

  • Proven culinary experience specializing in North Indian cuisine, particularly curry dishes
  • Banquet experience and fine dining background preferred
  • Supervising or team management experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and inventory management practices
  • Experience in menu planning, kitchen management, and food service operations
  • Background in catering or restaurant management is advantageous
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage shift operations effectively
  • Familiarity with the food industry standards for quality control and customer service excellence
