Sheriff's Applications and Database Specialist

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) is looking for a dedicated, hardworking IT professional seeking a rewarding career at a full-service law enforcement agency.

An employee in this class develops, maintains and troubleshoots applications and databases, as well as provides training in their use.

This position is responsible for SQL database management, user/group administration, application support and development, software updates/patches and software and hardware troubleshooting/repair. This position is also responsible for the development of reports, utilizing SQL SSRS and Crystal, that assist crime analysts, administrative staff and other end-users.

Graduation from a four-year college with a degree in computer science or related academic field and at least 5 years of relevant experience working with SQL Server database administration and configuration, software development in .NET for desktop/mobile devices and complex report generation in SAP Crystal and Microsoft SSRS is preferred. Knowledge of Central Square systems is a plus.

Installs, configures, modifies, maintains and troubleshoots FCSO systems software;
Serves as security administrator for law enforcement systems;
Compiles data and develops complex statistical reports used by various department personnel;
Works with other IT personnel to maintain servers for use by the FCSO staff including SQL, Exchange, Windows and SAP Crystal;
Supports the electronic document imaging system as needed;
Develops, implements and supports software applications that benefit agency personnel;
Provides assistance to all members of the FCSO IT team as needed;
Works closely with County MIS staff and outside vendors as needed;
Performs other related work as required.
