Dietary Aide

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional nutritional care within assisted living, nursing home, or healthcare environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, food preparation, and sanitation, with a strong focus on patient and resident satisfaction. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of residents by assisting with meal service, food handling, and maintaining a clean and safe dining environment. Prior experience in food industry settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, or culinary services is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and food production in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
• Serve meals to residents or patients in a courteous and professional manner
• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
• Busing tables and cleaning dishes to maintain a tidy dining environment
• Follow all food safety protocols including proper storage, temperature control, and sanitation procedures
• Support dietary department staff with inventory management and restocking supplies
• Assist with general kitchen duties such as cooking, plating, and portioning meals as directed
• Adhere to time management practices to ensure timely meal service for residents or patients
• Maintain respectful communication with residents, staff, and visitors to promote a positive dining experience

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dietary services within assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or related healthcare settings preferred
• Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation procedures
• Experience with food handling, meal preparation, and serving in a regulated environment
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach toward residents or patients
• Culinary or dietary aide experience is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
• Ability to follow safety protocols related to food production and sanitation
