About Us:
We are a multi-state cannabis manufacturing company producing premium products
under multiple brands that are sold to licensed dispensaries in Washington and
Massachusetts. With monthly revenues exceeding $1.0 million, our operations span
extraction, manufacturing, packaging, and distribution.
We are investing heavily in business process automation, AI, and data infrastructure to
improve operational visibility, compliance accuracy, and financial performance.
All historical company data is stored and managed in Caspio, and we are actively
integrating that platform with Grow Flow, QuickBooks, and other systems to streamline reporting and operations.
Position Overview:
The Data Engineer / Automation Programmer will design and implement systems that
automate key business and financial processes, connect multiple data sources, and
support AI-driven decision-making.
This role combines data engineering, workflow automation, and applied AI. You'll work
closely with finance, operations, and compliance leaders to build smart, connected tools
that replace manual tasks, improve data quality, and deliver actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Data Integration & Infrastructure
- Design and maintain automated data pipelines between GrowFlow, QuickBooks,
Caspio, and METRC.
- Expand and maintain the Caspio data environment as the company's core historical
and operational database.
- Build clean ETL processes to unify sales, production, and financial data.
- Manage database schema updates and ensure data integrity across systems.
Automation & AI Agents
- Use Zapier, n8n, Make (Integromat), or similar tools to automate workflows (e.g.,
reporting, inventory syncs, invoice reconciliation, AR management).
- Develop Python scripts or microservices for advanced automations beyond no code limits.
- Build and deploy AI agents to handle recurring tasks such as summarizing reports,
flagging anomalies, and assisting with compliance reviews.
- Integrate OpenAI or other AI APIs into business workflows to assist with document
processing and data categorization.
Analytics & Reporting
- Develop automated dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, or custom) using data from
Caspio and integrated systems.
- Build executive-level financial and operational reports (e.g., sales by product, yield
efficiency, COGS analysis).
- Support leadership with on-demand data analysis and scenario modeling.
Compliance & Data Governance
- Maintain reliable, auditable data connections between GrowFlow, METRC, and
internal systems.
- Implement secure access controls and data retention standards.
- Ensure automated workflows meet all state cannabis compliance reporting
requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or
related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in data engineering, automation, or software
development.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Zapier, n8n, Make (Integromat) or equivalent tools.
- Familiarity with AI agent frameworks (LangChain, OpenAI API, etc.).
- Experience integrating QuickBooks, GrowFlow, or other ERP/compliance systems.
- Strong understanding of ETL pipelines and REST APIs.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience with Caspio or other low-code database platforms.
- Prior work in the cannabis, consumer product manufacturing, or regulated
industries.
- Experience building dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial automation.
Example Projects
- Automate GrowFlow–QuickBooks reconciliation for real-time revenue and COGS
tracking.
- Build a Caspio-based dashboard showing daily sales, inventory levels, and
production throughput.
- Deploy an AI agent to summarize monthly operational KPIs from multiple data
sources.
- Create workflow automations to sync compliance data between GrowFlow,
METRC, and internal reports.
