Accountability:
Responsible for all logistics, trucking functions, warehouse, and post retail operations, including the processing, sales and shipping of all salvage and recyclable products. Hiring, training and directing all employees related to these functions. Strategic planning for warehouse and logistics growth, efficiencies, and operations.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Operational
- Oversees all trucking functions including quality assurance and DOT regulations.
- Coordinate commercial donations and relationships in conjunction with Marketing.
- Oversees all salvage, and recycling functions including quality assurance.
- Oversees and maintains all offsite storage facilities, and equipment.
- Oversees the receipt and distribution of new goods, and closeout merchandise.
- Maintains the overall orderly storage of all materials within the warehouse, protects those assets.
- Analyzes department costs versus revenues, and adjusts labor expenses quickly to insure department maximum productivity. Controls costs through maximizing efficiencies.
- Accurately and efficiently completes all required paperwork.
- Demonstrates flexibility while scheduling and/or rescheduling warehouse functions.
- Maintains an orderly dock and warehouse area with (often) limited employee support.
Leadership
- Provides direct supervision, including hiring, training, and direction, for warehouse supervisors/assistant managers, truck drivers, warehouse workers.
- Acts as the leader to hold all employees accountable within their job descriptions.
- Plans, recommends and implements warehouse changes to meet the growing demand of warehouse and logistics operations.
- Leads with vision to make recommendations on sustainability and recycling efforts.
Customer Service
- Works closely with E-Commerce, E-Books, and other departments that share the building.
- Provides a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Works closely with all department and retail locations to form collaborative relationships while providing a high level of customer service, including missions programs.
- Assists with marketing activities to generate donations as needed.
- Manages vendor relationships including negotiating with outside vendors to obtain favorable market level prices for salvage goods, and obtain favorable supply and equipment pricing.
- Responsive and respectful towards others within the organization. Promotes internal and external customer service through effective communication. Displays appropriate behavior (courteous and respectful interactions) with employees, colleagues, vendors.
Safety
- Works with vendors to ensure all equipment is working functionally and safely.
- Consistently follows established safety standards. Reports safety accidents and hazards when known and in a timely manner. Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly warehouse. Utilizes the proper equipment and supplies in meeting the safety standards. Maintains a safe work environment. Maintains all equipment (trucks, forklifts, balers, tippers, pallet jacks) according to safety standards.
- Demonstrates regard for Goodwill's assets including property, and equipment.

Environment:
This position is based in a warehouse environment and includes both office and floor responsibilities. The role involves overseeing warehouse operations, managing staff, and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods. While much of the work is supervisory, the Warehouse Manager may occasionally assist with lifting, moving, or organizing materials and equipment. The environment can include exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and heavy or bulky items, and requires adherence to safety protocols, leadership presence, and collaboration with team members.
Sensory and Physical Requirements:
Ability to efficiently and effectively perform all functions of the job. Ability to stand for a minimum of four hours per shift. Lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, twist and have a full range of motion.

Qualifications
Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:
- A combination of education and relevant work experience that aligns with the duties of this position. Associate's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years' experience in a warehouse or related environment.
- 3-5 years' supervisory experience.
- Forklift and Class C license or CDL license preferred with a safe driving record.
- Ability to work in a highly unstructured environment with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing patterns of donations and inventory levels.
- Demonstrated self-initiative and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to analyze workflow and business needs to make recommendations about future needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Functional use of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
