Position Summary
The IT Specialist is a critical hybrid role responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all technology systems across the SEED BRKLYN campus. This includes audiovisual systems, projection mapping, multi-screen Pods, computers, POS systems, lighting control, gaming consoles, and complex software ecosystems.
This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and creative fluency. The ideal candidate thrives in live event environments, can operate calmly under pressure, and understands how to support artists and brand partners in achieving immersive experiences.

Hardware & Software Ecosystem

The IT Specialist must be fluent in SEED BRKLYN's full tech stack, including:

Software & Control Systems

• Savi (lighting & AV automation)
• Casambi (lighting control)
• Shopify POS ecosystem
• Projection mapping tools
• Internal media/server towers

Hardware & Devices

• iOS devices (iPads, iPhones)
• Samsung LED screens & monitors
• Internal building-wide sound system
• DJ decks, mixers, microphones, and speakers
• Projectors (short-throw & long-throw)
• Multi-screen Pods
• Anti-theft security system
• Lighting systems
• Gaming consoles (Xbox, PS5)

Experience with installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of these systems is essential.

Core Responsibilities Audiovisual & Technology Maintenance

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize all AV systems (speakers, projectors, mixers, mics, DJ decks).
• Oversee immersive technologies including projection mapping, media servers, and multi-display Pods.
• Ensure all event spaces remain fully operational for activations, performers, and brand partners.

Operational IT Support

• Maintain computers, printers, card readers, iPads, displays, and security systems.
• Maintain stability of Shopify POS, Savi, Casambi, WiFi, network, and all internal tools.
• Provide rapid response for onsite technical issues across retail, café, and events.

Event Technical Execution

• Serve as the onsite tech lead during experiential events.
• Assist artists and brand partners with playback, projection, audio routing, and creative technical direction.
• Load, test, and operate assets for projection mapping and multi-screen installations.

Network & Systems Administration

• Oversee routers, switches, WiFi stability, and device authorization.
• Maintain user accounts, logins, permissions, and basic cybersecurity protocols.
• Coordinate vendor communication for large-scale system updates or repairs.

Training, Documentation & Organization

• Train internal staff on proper tech usage (POS, AV, lighting, iPads, etc.).
• Maintain organized tech inventory and backup gear.
• Document troubleshooting processes, workflows, and maintenance logs.

Work Schedule

• 40–60 hours per week, primarily Friday–Tuesday
• Must be onsite at least 4 days per week
• Heavy onsite support required during brand activations, events, and installations
• One optional remote day per week

Reporting Structure
Reports to:

• Operations Manager
• Executive Creative Director
• Producer (Experiential/Oasis)

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in IT, AV tech, live events, or similar fields
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Mac, Windows, networking, audio, and video
• Experience with projection mapping and multi-display systems strongly preferred
• Able to support and interpret artist-driven concepts
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-pressure event environments
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
• Ability to lift and install equipment across multiple spaces

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation:

• $75,000–$80,000 annually (paid weekly)

Skills

• Strong knowledge of computer management including hardware installation and maintenance.
• Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Experience with computer networking concepts like LAN setup, VPN configuration, firewalls, and network security protocols.
• Familiarity with software troubleshooting techniques for various applications.
• Ability to support desktop environments through help desk tools like ServiceNow or Jira.
• Knowledge of IT support best practices with excellent customer service skills.
• Experience managing IT infrastructure components including servers and network devices.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with technical teams and end-users alike.
